The Adidas Brazuca was the official match ball of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Its name, chosen by a public vote, represents Brazilian pride, passion, and joy. The
ball introduced a revolutionary 6-panel design, making it rounder, more stable, and
more predictable than previous balls. Unlike the Jabulani from 2010, which was
criticized for its flight unpredictability, the Brazuca received widespread praise for its
accuracy and control. It featured a vibrant, ribbon-like design inspired by Brazilian
culture and carnival colors. The thermally bonded panels provided better grip,
touch, and water resistance. The ball was used in memorable matches, including
Germany’s 7-1 victory over Brazil and their 1-0 win over Argentina in the final. A
special gold version, the Brazuca Final Rio, was used in the championship match.
The Brazuca remains one of the best-received World Cup balls in history.
